From the world of HYROX

HYROX is an international fitness race that combines 8 km of running with eight functional stations. Athletes alternate 1 km runs with exercises such as sled pushes, rowing and sandbag lunges. The format was first introduced in Germany in 2017 and has grown in popularity all over the world since.

In 2025 HYROX held more than 80 races with over 550,000 athletes and 350,000 spectators, underlining its rapid growth and popularity among fitness fans.

One of the most inspiring people in the HYROX community is 70-year-old Celia Duff, known as “Badass Gran”. After retiring she took up intense training and has won world titles in her age group. Her story shows that age is no barrier to a high level of fitness.

HYROX has also teamed up with Centr, the fitness platform founded by actor Chris Hemsworth, to develop a dedicated race surface. The new surface was introduced at the HYROX World Championships in Chicago in June 2025 and is available to HYROX training centres.

Choosing the right shoes is key for athletes. Recommended models include the APL Euphoria, Nike Pegasus 41 and Brooks Hyperion, which offer the stability and grip needed for the different parts of the race.

HYROX has become an attractive choice for anyone looking for a complete test of fitness that combines running and functional training.
